According to the production report published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Spain maintains its position as the leading producer of compound feed in the European Union, with 38.8 million tons in 2024, representing a 1.5% increase over the previous year.
Across the EU as a whole, feed production fell by 0.4%, according to data from the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation.
By species, production of compound feed for pigs remains the most significant, accounting for 46.87% of the total, followed by cattle and poultry, which represent 20.78% and 19.85%, respectively. Compared to 2023, pig feed production decreased by 1.1% and cattle feed by 2%, while poultry feed increased by 5.1%.
