Spain: the production of pork increases during the first semester of 2014

During the first semester of 2014 the production of pork has reached 1,784,459 tonnes, which implies an increase by 2.92% with respect to the same period in 2013.

According to the last survey regarding the slaughtering of livestock published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment of Spain, during the first semester of 2014 the production of pork has reached 1,784,459 tonnes, which implies an increase by 2.92% with respect to the same period in 2013.

With respect to the number of pigs slaughtered between January and June 2014, a total of 21,136,711 animals have been sent to the abattoir: 2.20% more thann during the first half of 2013.
