Spain: increase in the slaughter of pigs

The data published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (MAGRAMA) with respect to the slaughter of animals and the meat production during the first nine months of 2012 show how the total production of pig meat in Spain has increased and reached a total of 2,615,136 tons: a 2.04% more than during the same period of the previous year (2,562,849 tons).

With respect to the number of slaughtered animals, it adds up 31,473,289 animals: a 2.08% more than during the first nine months of 2011 (30,832,878).
