Working meeting between Pham Van Dong, Head of the State Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Vietnam and Yevgeny Nepoklonov Deputy Ministry of Agriculture took place on May 24, 2017 in Paris in the framework of the 85th OIE General Session.

The parties discussed cooperation in the veterinary field. Yevgeny Nepoklonov mentioned importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries. In particular they discussed an issue of harmonizing veterinary certificates for pork, beef, poultry meat and products thereof from Russia to Vietnam.

As for signing the pork export certificate the Russian party mentioned that this issue should be considered taking into account the fact that Russia applies compartmentalization in pig production and that Russian establishments interested in pig product export to Vietnam are located in ASF free zones. Yevgeny Nepoklonov drew attention of the Vietnamese colleagues to the fact that this issue is very important as the RF territory is huge. Herewith, the Russian Federation assured that it is ready to suggest any additional measures that guarantee safety of pork products exported from Russia. The Vietnamese party informed that it will consider ASF control information, provided by the Rosselkhoznadzor in the nearest time.
