According to Rosselkhoznadzor, “after examining the guarantees of the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) regarding product safety, including the non-use of beta-agonists and other growth stimulants such as ractopamine, Rosselkhoznadzor has determined that the company Smithfield Packing Inc. may supply Russia with pork from its facilities Nos. 18079 and 413 on 10 March this year”.
However, the issue of the refrigeration companies from which the supplies will come remains unresolved. The time frame for starting deliveries will be determined after additional guarantees are received from FSIS and Rosselkhoznadzor makes the respective decision.
