An outbreak of African swine fever was registered in a military unit of the Leningrad region.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, as of October 16 twenty-three outbreaks of infection were reported in Russia. The Rostov region and Kalmykia have been worst hit by the outbreak of African swine fever.
