Romania can no longer negotiate with the European Union an extension of the state subsidies for farming, that stopped being granted at the end of 2009, Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Mihail Dumitru said.

The subsidies granted from the national budget in the last years were dropped from Jan. 1, 2010, namely the support for milk quality, the support for pigs- and poultry breeders, the diesel fuel subsidy and the subsidy for the irrigation water.
