Reopening of markets to Brazilian meat imports

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the net of Brazilian embassies are working to normalize the Brazilian meat imports.

China, Egypt, South Korea and Chile have announced the reopening of their markets to Brazilian meat after receiving all the necessary information and the technical data from the Brazilian authorities. According to the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Blairo Maggi, during these lasts days, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies (MAPA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the net of Brazilian embassies have worked non-stop to normalize the Brazilian meat imports.

Nevertheless, Mexico and Hong Kong keep the temporary closure of their markets to all the Brazilian meat products. On the other hand, other markets, such as Japan, the EU, Canada and Vietnam, among others, have accepted the decision of Brazil and have only suspended temporarily the imports of meat and meat products that come from the investigated Federal Inspection Services (SIF). In turn, the USA have not applied any restrictions to imports, but they have to re-inspection and microbiological tests on 100% of the imported Brazilian meat products.
