On September 29, during the 15th GF-TADs Regional Steering Committee Meeting for the Americas, the Regional Framework for the containment and prevention of African swine fever (ASF) spread in the Americas was approved.

The objective of this strategy is to coordinate and implement necessary animal health actions to:

  • detect immediately,
  • effectively contain,
  • prevent the spread,
  • and mitigate the impacts of African swine fever in the Americas.

All these actions are aligned within the GF-TADs initiative for the global control of African swine fever.
