China's strong demand for pork, together with the international political situation, has pushed hog prices up in some countries.

The major European exporting countries have experienced a sharp rise in their prices in recent months. In some cases prices have even reached historical records, such as with Denmark and Germany, and in most cases prices have been sustained beyond annual seasonality.

Prices of major American exporters are divided between those who are exporting to China, such as Brazil, and those who export under high tariffs or have suffered restrictions, such as the U.S. and Canada.

In December we will publish an article comparing each of the responses with the maximum price reached, and in January we will launch a new question about 2020 prices.
