The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy reported sustained growth in meat consumption in Argentina, with an average increase of 4.6% over the last year. The data comes from an analysis prepared by the National Livestock Directorate in June 2025, based on INDEC, SENASA, and Customs data.
Per capita pork consumption reached 17.92 kg during the period analyzed, representing a 7.7% increase over the previous year, equivalent to an additional 1.28 kg per inhabitant. This growth reflects greater acceptance by consumers and the pork industry's sustained efforts to ensure a stable and high-quality supply.

Total consumption of beef, pork, and poultry reached 114.06 kg per capita on a 12-month moving average, compared to 109.06 kg in 2024. Beef consumption was 50.24 kg per capita (+5.6%), pork consumption was 17.92 kg (+7.7%), and poultry consumption was 45.90 kg (+2.4%).
The performance of the meat sector was also reflected in foreign trade: in the first half of 2025, exports earned 11% more than in the same period in 2024, with an increase of US$50 million.
The growth in pork and poultry consumption, combined with Argentina's leadership in global beef consumption, confirms a trend toward diversification in eating habits, contributing to a more balanced and accessible diet for the population.
