Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Marek Sawicki, talked in Kiev to Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Ihor Shvaika, and to the management of the Ukrainian veterinary services.

They discussed the possibilities for resuming the export of pork and beef from Poland. As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached on both issues.

This agreement will enter into force on 17 June. It will allow to resume the export of pork and deboned beef to the Ukrainian market.

With respect to pork, this will be possible in the absence of reservations on the part of the Ukrainian experts, who are arriving to Poland next week.

In the 3rd quarter of this year, inspections in Polish meat establishments were also scheduled to be carried out by the Ukrainian veterinary services. This would allow to resume also the export of bone-in beef at the end of the 3rd quarter.
