After the detection of foot and mouth disease in Ecuador, the Peruvian and Colombian authorities have decided to suspend imports of animal products.

In Peru’s case, initially to last 180 days, this affects ruminants and live pig stock, semen or embryos of these species fertilized in vitro, as well as other species susceptible to foot and mouth disease and fresh refrigerated or frozen meats, entrails and raw giblets. Colombia has decided to halt imports for one year.
