The National Customs Authority implemented, last Friday, January 2nd, the customs procedure for the apportionment of the tariff quota of pork covered by the Commercial Promotion Treaty (CPT) between the Republic of Panama and US under the mechanism of First Arrived, First Served.

The assigned quota was 2,200 tonnes. The amount requested during the opening on January 2nd was 2,678 tonnes, exceeding the tariff quota by 478,465.93 kg, so the apportionment was applied clearly and fairly to each of the applications submitted by the companies.
