New increase of the European pork exports

The latest data published by the EU show an increase by 26.5% of the pork exports during the first trimester of 2016, with a total of 924,902 tonnes.

The latest data published by the EU show an increase by 26.5% of the pork exports during the first trimester of 2016, with a total of 924,902 tonnes.

The first destination is still China, with 42% of the total amount and an increase by 77% with respect to the same period in 2015. It is followed by Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and South Korea, with 9.4%, 9.2%, 6.5% and 5.4% of the total amount, respectively.

Regarding the main exporters at a global level, the UE is the first exporter, followed by the US, that do not reach 600,000 tonnes, with a slight rise with respect to the first trimester of 2015. Canada and Brazil hold the third and fourth place, respectively, and they stand out with important increases with respect to 2015.
