New decrease in Spanish pork exports

Between January and June, Spanish pork exports decreased 24%, with a 50% drop in exports destined for China.

In the first half of this year, Spain exported 933,526 tons of meat and meat products, representing a decrease of 23% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Pork continues to be the main meat exported with 89.2% of the total, followed by poultry meat with 3.8% and beef with 1.74%.

Between January and June, a total of 832,799 t of pork and preparations were exported, a decrease of 24% compared to the same period in 2021. As seen in the following graph, exports to China, the leading destination, have decreased by more than half, while exports to the Philippines, Japan, and South Korea have doubled.
