The OIE has reported for the first time the emergence of Brucella suis biovar 2 in wild boar in the Netherlands.

The outbreak is located in Vaals in Margraten (Limburg), with 30 susceptible animals of which 2 cases.

The two positive bacteriological examinations of the two wild boars were sampled of a group of wild boars who are free migrating in the south of Limburg in the frontier wildlife area of The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
