The Governor of the State of Jalisco, Mr. Jorge Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz, and the Senior Director of the Food and Agriculture Health, Harmlessness and Quality National Service (SENASICA), Mr. Enrique Sánchez Cruz, inaugurated, last week, the first municipal abattoir with Federal Type Inspection (TIF) certification in Jalisco.

The abattoir has a slaughtering capacity of 3,800 cattle heads and 5,600 pigs per month.

The Chief Director of the autonomous unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Stockbreeding, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) informed that this is the sixth municipal abattoir in the country transformed into a TIF, and this translates into benefits for the consumer, who will have better guarantees for obtaining healthy and harmless meat.

He added that this kind of infrastructure implies an advantage for the farmers of the region, because they will have facilities that fulfil the national and international safety and harmlessness regulations, which gives an added value to their products, because they will be able to sell them in the national and international markets.
