The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico considering that the National Health, Food Safety and Quality Service, in coordination with the State Government of Coahuila and the pig farmers of that state, have developed and executed health actions for the diagnosis, control, eradication and surveillance of both active and passive AD, and upon not having detected the presence of the causative agent of Aujeszky's disease, has declared the territory of the State of Coahuila, except the municipalities of La Laguna, fully AD free.

This measure will encourage the marketing of pigs and their products and by-products originating from this area, something that will impact positively on the development of hog production in the state, valued at over 207 million dollars, making it more competitive and profitable.
