With the aim of facilitating procedures for agri-food products international trade, the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico (SAGARPA) issued an Agreement, by means of a document published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF), through which the processing of certificates issued by the National Service for Agroalimentary Public Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA) is simplified and streamlined, in order to make foreign trade in agricultural goods, livestock, aquaculture and fishing products more agile, easier and safer.

The purpose is to provide tools to increase competitiveness in the national agri-food industry, allowing the importer or exporter to use the representation figure recognized in the Customs Law (Trust Conferred), by which his broker may request certificates for import and export electronically.

For this purpose, the advanced electronic signature must be used, through the Mexican Digital Window for Foreign Trade, which provides another option to manage certificates.
