Meat production increase in Spain

Regarding pork, the production during this semester has increased by 7.17% with respect to the same period in 2015 (1,951,899 tonnes).

According to the latest data published by the Statistics Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, during the first half of 2016, Spain has produced 3.24 million tonnes of meat: 6.1% more in comparison with the same period in 2015 (3.06 million tonnes).

From the total of meat produced, pork still holds the first position, with a production of 2.09 million tonnes, that represent 64.44% of the total figures, followed by fowl (748,200 tonnes; 23.05%), beef (303,804 tonnes; 9.36%), and to a lesser extent lamb (59,538 tonnes) and rabbit (31,348 tonnes).

In particular, regarding pork, the production during this semester has increased by 7.17% with respect to the same period in 2015 (1,951,899 tonnes).
