Latvia detects the first ASF case in domestic pigs in 2015

The veterinary authorities of Latvia have informed the OIE of the appearance of African swine fever (ASF) on a backyard farm in Dubnas (Daugavpils county).

11 animals out of 18 were detected: 2 of them were dead and the rest were slaughtered.

In the same report sent to the OIE, the authorities have also informed of the detection of 20 more outbreaks of the disease in wild boars wih a total of 31 affected animals.
