Latvia confirms new ASF outbreaks

Once again, the Latvian veterinary authorities have informed the OIE of the appearance of 9 new outbreaks of African swine fever in the country.

Once again, the Latvian veterinary authorities have informed the OIE of the appearance of 9 new outbreaks of African swine fever in the country.

In total, 9 outbreaks have been identified, with a total of 3 wild boars and 10 domestic pigs affected from a total of 4 and 134 susceptible animals, respectively.

Most of the outbreaks are located, as happened before, in the counties of Dagdas and Kraslavas, near the border with Belarus, but for the first time outbreaks have been detected in the county of Vakas, near the border with Estonia.
