According to a missive of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, Costa Rica has the authorisation to export, from this moment on, pork and by-products to Japan by means of the animal health certificate form.

After checking the animal health certificate form proposed by Costa Rica, Japan confirmed that the animal health requirements agreed in May 1992 and revised in 2000 are met, according to the official communique of the Japanese government, endorsed by Mr. Toshiro Kawashima, Director of the Animal Health Division and the Consumers' Affairs Office of Japan.
