Informed by the ANMVI, citing statements by Alessio D'Amato, Lazio Region Health Councilor, two cases of african swine fever have been confirmed in two domestic pigs in the region. This is the first ASF case in domestic pigs outside the island of Sardinia, where the disease is considered endemic and present in wild boars and without cases in domestic pigs since 2019.

The farm, with 8 animals, is located within the infected area, in dell'Insugherata Park, where this May 6 the first ASF case in wild boar was confirmed, outside the infected areas, Piemonte and Liguria. So far, 23 wild boars have been tested positive in Lazio region.
