The veterinary authorities of Israel have notified the OIE of an outbreak of FMD in a pig farm with 2300 susceptible animals of which 172 cases. The farm is located in Fassuta (Acco, Hazafon).

The morbidity of sows and mortality of piglets have been seen in one group out of 7 groups in the farm. The sows showed classical clinical signs, such as high temperature, blisters on the tongue, muzzle, feet and udder. A high mortality of piglets has been observed with classical tiger heart lesions.
