The first container with 25 tons of pork will set sail from the port of Cartagena to Hong Kong, with products from five plants (Supercerdo Paisa, Frigorífico Colanta, Frigotun Pereira, la Fazenda and Carnes y Derivados de Occidente).

Between June and July, the country will export 100 tons to Hong Kong and the Ivory Coast, thanks to the joint efforts of Porkcolombia, the International Trading Company CI Porkco, and the national government, headed by the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade, with institutions such as ProColombia, ICA and Invima.

According to the Colombian Minister of Agriculture, Rodolfo Zea, "world pork trade is over USD 28 billion and in Asia the situation is highly attractive, which leads us to redouble our efforts to achieve sanitary access in markets such as Korea, with whom we have a trade agreement, and China where pork is the main source of protein".
