Since November 1st the Chinese authorities have formally admitted the entrance of pig feet produced in Holland.

In relation to the total economic value of the pig carcasses, the admission, by China, of the pig feet is important. The consumption of pig feet in China is high, and it is even higher bearing in mind the Chinese New Year, that will begin in the first months of 2013.

The admission of pig feet by the Chinese authorities puts an end to a project of many years carrried out by the Dutch Ministry of Economy, Agriculture and Innovation, as well as by many Dutch agriculture organizations and pressure groups.

The Chinese authorities have stated that only pig feet coming from Dutch producing companies approved for the exportation and also with an approved protocol for the production of pig feet will be admitted.
