In the first semester of 2015 the exports of pork and pig offal and fat (EU + third countries) exceeded 733,000 tonnes, a record figure that implied a rise by 13% with respect to the same period in 2014. In monetary terms, €1,451 were reached: 6% more than in the first semester of 2014.
Regarding processed products, we must highlight that 19,567 tonnes of cured hams and forelegs (+7%) and 28,344 tonnes of cured sausages (+43%) were exported. The spectacular increase in lard and melted pig fat exports, that grew by 260%, reaching 11,260 tonnes, also stand out.
