As part of the reforms being made by the government for greater administrative efficiency and simplicity, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fishing has set up the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Border Inspection Service (SIVEP).

The aim of this new organization is to provide some border control points with a central base, for a greater efficiency in veterinary and phytosanitary controls of imported products. This new organization will also allow, whenever possible, the merge between the different geographic positions.
