France has created the Agronomy, Veterinary Science and Forestry Institute (IAVFF), an organisation whose goal is to generate synergy between higher education in agriculture and agricultural investigation, and that gathers 12 higher education public institutions in agriculture, veterinary science and landscape, as well as the INRA and the IRSTEA. Each institution will preserve its autonomy and management, as well as its territorial domains. Other institutions have shown their wish to join this movement.

The Institute will allow its members to develop all the training and investigation strategies to be implemented through joint projects and to coordinate their policies and international activities.
