The Commission proposes that European farmers receive emergency support of an additional €700 million compared to the draft budget proposed in May.

Of them, €500 million will go to finance a series of measures in response to the particularly difficult situation on a number of EU agricultural markets, notably the dairy sector. The other €200 million will go to provide emergency support for fruit and vegetables and some dairy products following the extension of the Russian embargo on EU imports of EU agricultural products.
