European Union: Commissioner proposes private storage for pigmeat

European Agriculture Commissioner, Phil Hogan, announced on Sunday during his visit to France International Agricultural Show, that at the next meeting of the Agriculture Committee, which will take place on Tuesday, February 24, he will propose the opening of a measure of private storage for pork products.

This measure has been requested by the French Minister of Agriculture, Stéphane Le Foll, and several of his European counterparts, for several months, to counteract the negative effects of the current ban on imports of European pork meat by Russia.
