European Union: 2.6% increase in pork exports during the first semester

Pork exports to third countries increased by 2.6% over the same period last year, reaching 1,520,802 tons.

The latest data from the Single CMO Management Committee shows that, during the first half of the year, pork exports to third party countries increased by 2.6% over the same period last year, reaching 1,520,802 tons . The main destinations are still Russia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and the Ukraine, but for all we have detected a decrease in exports, except for China and the Ukraine, where 79% and 87% increases were detected, respectively, in relation to the same period last year.

Regarding imports these follow the trend of recent months and fell by 5.7% over the period between January and June 2011.
