The latest figures from the Danish statistics service show a drastic reduction in the use of antibiotics in swine production during the first trimester of this year.

The use has decreased from 26.820 kg of active substance in the second trimester of 2010 to 23.681 kilograms in the third trimester, which means a total decrease of 11,7 percent. According to these results, it is assumed that the “Yellow card” program put into effect on July 1 is yielding results.
