SEGES data for Danish productivity in 2020 show a major improvement in finishing pigs, seeing the largest ever increase in productivity. The average daily gain (ADG) of finishing pigs reached 1,026 grams with a feed conversion ratio of 2.65. A comparison with the previous year shows that in 2019 the ADG was 909 grams/head/day and the feed conversion ratio was 2.73.

The average number of piglets weaned per sow was 33.9, a 0.3 increase from the previous year, accompanied by a 0.5 increase in pigs born alive/sow/year.

Improvements are still expected in piglet mortality, which was virtually unchanged, and there was a slight deterioration in sow mortality.
