A new forecast from the Knowledge Centre for Pig Production shows that throughout the whole 2010-2012 period, deficits are expected for all types of pig farms.

In 2011, earnings again will deteriorate for all types of pig production. The forecast for this year is expecting an average price of pork at 1.28 Euros/kg. Next year, the price will be unchanged, and it increases just slightly in 2012. Even if pork prices would increase by 15 Eurocent/kg compared to the forecast, there will still be a production deficit in pig farms.
