Denmark exported more than 11 million pigs in 2015, which represents an increase of 2% compared to 2014.
The biggest importer continued to be Germany, with 55% of the total number of animals (6.3 million piglets), even though it was less than the previous year. An increase of piglet exports to Poland —destination of 4.1 million exported piglets— was observed. Italy is the third destination, with 6.5% of the Danish market for piglets, and in 2015 it increased its imports by 1.4%.
