According to the Agricultural Statistical Service of France (Agreste), in 2015, the French pig exports fell by 34,000 tonnes (carcass weight equivalent): 6% less than in 2014. This situation varies depending on the destination: 38,000 tonnes less to the EU, but 4,000 tonnes more to third countries, especially Asian countries.

Regarding production, France keeps and even slightly increases its pig production in terms of weight: +1% (carcass equivalent tonnes). The production remains stable because of an increase in the average weight (+1.1%).
