The Ministers of Agriculture of Colombia and Peru, Mr. Aurelio Iragorri Valencia and Mr. José Manuel Hernández, announced that the health requirements for the Colombian exporters to sell pineapple, avocados, pork, chicken, eggs and live pigs to Peru have become effective. Likewise, they commited to have another list with seven permissible products more by the end of the year.

“With this, we achieve that the small farmers and agri-industrialists gain access to new markets, with which it is expected that this year 24 new destinations for agricultural products exports are attained,” declared the Minister, Mr. Iragorri, that underlined that Peru is a case of success in agricultural and farming products exports policies, and Colombia is strengthening links with Peru in the framework of the Pacific Alliance and the CAN.
