China's total grain output increased year-on-year in 2021

China has published statistics for the country's total sown area, yield, and total grain output in 2021.

China's total grain output was 682.85 million tons, an increase of 13.36 million tons or 2.0% compared with that in 2020. Cereals output was 632.76 million tons, an increase of 2.6% compared to 2020.

The area of grain sowed totaled 117,632 thousand hectares in 2021, up 0.7% from 2020. Of this, the sown area of cereals was 100,177 thousand hectares, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.

China's grain yield per unit area increased 1.2 year-on-year with 5,805 kg / ha. Cereals yield per unit area was 6,316 kg / ha, an increase of 0.3% compared to 2020.
