China - Livestock product trade deficit

China’s trade deficit of livestock products was US$2.5 billion in the first half of 2010, up 110 percent from a year earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture said in an online statement.

China’s trade deficit of livestock products was US$2.5 billion in the first half of 2010, up 110 percent from a year earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture said in an online statement.

Livestock exports rose 17.9 percent year-on-year to US$2.1 billion in the period, while imports were up 54.0 percent at US$4.6 billion, the statement said.
