Canada - Influenza A(H1N1) – Contained case in a swine herd in Québec

During its regular surveillance activities, the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ), has detected one isolated case of A(H1N1) in a swine herd.

During its regular surveillance activities, the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ), has detected one isolated case of A(H1N1) in a swine herd. The virus strain has been identified on July 24 by the Federal laboratory of Winnipeg. The swine herd has now completely recovered. No other case has been reported in a swine farm in Québec and there is no human case related to this situation.
