Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Lawrence MacAulay and Minister of International Trade Chrystia Freeland announced that the Government of Canada has secured export market access for live breeding cattle and live breeding swine to the country of Georgia.
Canadian cattle and swine breeders can immediately begin exporting to this market. Georgian breeders also benefit by gaining access to Canada’s world-class animal genetics. Canadian industry estimates that the total gains from access to this new market could be worth up to $2.5 million annually.
