Bulgaria - Minister Naydenov signed an agreement with the Bulgarian Veterinary Union

Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naidenov and President of the National Council of the Bulgarian Veterinary Union (BVU) Dr. Jordan Boychev signed an agreement after meeting with the union leadership today. The Agreement stipulates that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food should prepare and submit by October 31, 2010 the Government Preventive Program for 2011, while in the development and amendment of programs for the prevention, control and eradication of infectious and parasitic diseases will take part representatives of BVU.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naidenov and President of the National Council of the Bulgarian Veterinary Union (BVU) Dr. Jordan Boychev signed an agreement after meeting with the union leadership today. The Agreement stipulates that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food should prepare and submit by October 31, 2010 the Government Preventive Program for 2011, while in the development and amendment of programs for the prevention, control and eradication of infectious and parasitic diseases will take part representatives of BVU.

The parties agreed the Ministry to prepare and submit to the Bulgarian Veterinary Union the 2011 Action plan with concrete measures, parameters and schedule for implementation of epizootics prevention measures. The mechanism of implementation of these measures and specific authorities to inspect their implementation should be described in this plan.

The parties agreed experts of the Bulgarian Veterinary Union to participate in the preparation of draft laws on veterinary medicine and amending the Law on Veterinary Activities, Law on Professional Organization of Veterinarians in Bulgaria and the Animal Breeding Law.
