The Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina will be declared free of CSF during the 83rd General Session of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), that started last Sunday 24 May in Paris (France).

The international recognition by the OIE will be made official today, Thursday 28 May.

In February, the OIE's Scientific Commission approved the extensive Brazilian report asking for the statement of the area as CSF-free.

Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina already represent 68% of the pork exports.
