The CEO of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Mr. Francisco Turra, informed that Brazil reopened its market to Brazilian pork exports.

South Africa had its borders closed to Brazilian pork products since year 2005, when foot-and-moth disease outbreaks that affected cattle were detected in Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul. Acording to the data of the ABPA, in 2005, before the closure of the South African market, Brazil exported 18,000 tonnes to South Africa.
