This publication is the first one of a series of technical materials for the stimulation of good practices in pig production whose goal is to help producers to act proactively regarding welfare in the pregnancy and lactation stages.

This material is the result of the association between the MAPA and the Inter-American Institute for the Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA). The publishing of technical information materials for the pig production chain is essential to facilitate the spreading of knowledge and the implementation of better practices.
