Brazil: increase in the agricultural production by 9.7%

The last data of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture show an increase in the agricultural production by 9.7%.

The new estimate of the Agriculture and Livestock Gross Value (ALGV) in 2013 reaches R$411.9 thousand million, and this means an increase by 9.7% in comparison with year 2012. The study, published by the Strategic Management Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), makes reference to the agricultural and livestock farms.

The expected growth of the crops for this year is 10.3% in comparison with the previous year, and this represents R$276 thousand million. In the case of livestock, it represents a value of R$135.9 thousand million: an increase by 8.6% during this period.
