During the last meeting of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), this organization decided, unanimously, to certify that Bolivia is free of foot-and-mouth disease.

The Minister of Rural Development and Lands, Ms. Nemesia Achacollo, who represented Bolivia in this 82nd Meeting of the OIE, guaranteed the representatives of the countries present at the meeting that the fight has not ended and that the permanent measures will go on so the Bolivian livestock is not involved in any kind of disease outbreaks.

She pointed out that the National Agriculture and Livestock Health and Food Harmlessness Service (SENASAG) will carry on working together with the agriculture and livestock producers, regional governments and city halls in all the country so this new health status may be preserved along time and the country is able to export meat and meat products to international markets.
